Chambered in .380 Auto, this striker-fired pistol features a black polymer frame and a Tenifer-coated military-grade steel slide. Like most Glock pistols, the 42 uses the safety trigger system favored by Glock pistol owners. The Glock 42 may come standard with a 6-round magazine, but if you're looking for a higher capacity magazine, extended magazines are also available.

At less than an inch wide, the Glock 42 is one of the smallest Glocks on the market, making it ideal for deep concealment. Looking for a Glock 42 Holster? Check out our selection of Kydex and hybrid holsters here.

In terms of safety, the Glock 43 uses Glock's safety trigger system and is housed in a 9mm Luger pistol. While the gun comes standard with a 6-round magazine, there is the option of an extended magazine if you are looking for a higher capacity magazine.

New Extended Magazine For The Glock 42 Pistol

Capacity-wise, these two small but mighty pistols are identical. They all come standard with a 6-round magazine, but if you want more capacity, you can use extended magazines.

The frames of the Glock 42 and Glock 43 are nearly identical. They're all designed with a black polymer frame and built-in beaver tails for a high, tight grip.

It's worth noting that none of these guns are modular, meaning you won't be able to change the straps, but that's not uncommon for a gun of this size.

Both the Glock 42 and Glock 43 have a Tenifer coated ordnance grade steel sleeve. While both pistols have the same slide material and features, the Glock 43 has a slightly larger slide. Ultimately, this means you may find it easier to master than the 42.

Speaking of recoil, the 43 generally has more recoil depending on the caliber. But both guns are great to shoot, even for those who are sensitive to recoil.

You won't find anything special about the aiming of these two guns. Both the Glock 42 and Glock 43 come standard with Glock plastic sights. Don't worry though, as both models are easily upgradeable to the sights you want.

While there is no optical ready variant of the Glock 42, the Glock 43X MOS was recently released and can be equipped with a red dot sight.

While neither the Glock 42 nor the Glock 43 has a manual safety, they are both equipped with a safety action system. The system consists of three separate mechanical safety devices that disengage when the trigger is pulled and reengage when released. The Safe Action System provides protection if the gun is dropped.

How Many Carry A Glock 42

You might think that the triggers are the same for both pistols since they are of the same generation (4th generation), but the 43 has a slightly different trigger. Compared to the trigger on the 42, the trigger on the Glock 43 has a heavy and stiff break and short setback. The 42, on the other hand, has a lighter take-up but more roll breaks.

Ultimately, which method is best for you depends on your needs. You can't go wrong with either home defense or concealed carry options.

When comparing the Glock 42 and 43, you will find obvious differences such as size and bore as well as some minor differences. If you are looking for the smallest Glock pistol, the 42 is the one for you. Its ultra-compact size makes it an excellent choice for deep concealment. But if your aim is 9mm, the Glock 43 may be the right choice for you. Still compact, it's an excellent choice for concealed carry.
